Community members can discover why people have been enchanted by the art of origami—Japanese paper folding—for centuries as the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) hosts its annual Origami Festival on Sunday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Guests will have hands-on experience creating a three dimensional object from a single sheet of paper.  More than 40 experts from local and national origami clubs will teach a variety of different folds for people of all experience levels including animals, geometric forms and moveable origami.

Admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $8 for Japanese Garden members, $7 for children ages 4-12, and free for ages 3 and under. 

Prices include origami paper.  Free parking is available in non-metered spaces in campus Lot 16 across from the garden.

The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden is located at the campus of California State University, Long Beach.
