On Monday, April 28, the Newport Beach Film Festival will present its Japanese Spotlight, featuring a screening of a 2013 remake of Clint Eastwood’s Academy Award-winning western Unforgiven.

Starring Ken Watanabe, Jun Kunimura, Shiori Kutsuna, Yûya Yagira, Kôichi Satô, the story is set in Japan in the late 1800s, when an aging samurai is called upon to avenge the injustice of a mutilated prostitute.

The screening starts at 7:15 p.m. at the Edwards Big Newport Theater, with a post-screening party held at Newport Beach Land Rover.

Tickets for the screening and party are $40; for the screening alone, tickets are $18.
