On Aug. 17, Terry Hara, Deputy Chief of Los Angeles Police Department, was introduced as the 2015 President of the Nisei Week Foundation during the closing ceremony of the summer event Nisei Week Japanese Festival in Downtown Los Angeles – Little Tokyo.

The Nisei Week will mark 75th Anniversary in 2015, and major “Nebuta” floats are planned to appear in the 2015 Grand Parade.

Deputy Chief Hara has been involved in the Japanese community activities for long time. He served as the president of the Nisei Week Foundation in 2009.
