Preview of film “We said No No” and lecture by filmmaker Brian Maeda
Film director Brian Maeda will present a preview screening of his work in progress along with his Production Designer, James Murakami (Jersey Boys*, Letters from Iwo Jima*, and American Sniper*) and some of his cast, including 'Ikumi', the first Japanese woman to win the title of Miss International.
(*Jersey Boys, Letters from Iwo Jima, and American Sniper are Clint Eastwood’s films)
This is the controversial story of those who answered “No No” to the loyalty questions 27 and 28 by the U.S. government, and they were sent to the Tule Lake Segregation Center during WWII.
“I want to show what it was like in the Tule Lake Prison." says Maeda.
Mingling and meal time is set from 6 – 7 pm.
