2016 / Shochiku to present Kabuki featuring Ichikawa Somegoro at MGM Las Vegas, May 3-7
MGM Resorts International will host “Japan Kabuki Festival in Las Vegas 2016” from Tuesday, May 3 – Saturday, May 7.
In this festival, Shochiku Co. Ltd. of Japan will be presenting a Kabuki performance titled as “Panasonic presents Wonder KABUKI Spectacle at MGM Grand ‘SHI-SHI-O: The Adventures of the Mythical Lion.'”
The Wonder Kabuki Spectacle will be created by Shochiku specially for the David Copperfield Theater in MGM Grand, featuring Ichikawa Somegoro and in collaboration with technological artwork.
7 evening performances including 2 performances on Friday and Saturday. Show times will be announced.
Along with Somegoro, “SHI-SHI-O” will be played by Ichikawa Komazo, Nakamura Kasho, Otani Hirotaro, Nakamura Yonekichi, Nakamura Hayato, and Nakamura Karoku.

The standard budget of the Cultural News operation in past five years is $35,000 annually. The standard annual revenue consists of subscriptions for $15,000, advertisements for $10,000, and donations for $10,000.
In order to ensure publishing the monthly paper in 2015-2017, Cultural News seeks the donation of $30,000 by March 31, 2016.
As of Feb. 16, Cultural News has received $24,475 donation from supporters of Cultural News since January 2015. These supports enable Cultural N ews to continue publishing in coming years.
