Southern California bonsai masters will share their passion for the art form in this annual event that includes exhibits, demonstrations, prize drawings, a “bonsai bazaar,” and a live auction at 3 p.m. each day.

The Golden State Bonsai Federation will hold its Bonsai-A-Thon XX on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 27 and 28, from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm, at The Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens, in San Marino, California.
The Bonsai –A-Thon, which is the major fund raiser for the Golden State Bonsai Federation Collection at The Huntington, will be held in the Brody Botanical Center.
The event will feature exhibits and an ongoing “bonsai bazaar” with vendors selling pots, finished bonsai, raw bonsai stock, tools, accessories, bonsai soil, and suiseki (viewing stones).
Four to five on going demonstrations will be held on Saturday and Sunday by noted bonsai experts. The trees from these demonstrations are auctioned at 3:00 pm each day. Along with the auction, a large raffle is held daily.
2016’s Southern California host clubs will be Orange County Bonsai Society and Orange Empire Bonsai Society.
This event is the largest bonsai event of its kind in Southern California. The Bonsai-A-Thon is free with admission to The Huntington.
