Chindon-ya is a Japanese term for small music bands wearing advertisement signs and marching through streets.  Today Chindon-ya is rare in Japan.

Benten-ya is a Nagoya-based professional Chindon-ya band which gains national recognition. Benten-ya appeared at Japan Expo in Paris, 2016; Hyper Japan in London, 2015; and Expo Milano 2015.

On Oct. 22, two members of Benten-ya, Susie playing saxophone and drum and Suzuko on clarinet, will perform at the Terasaki Nibei Foundation.
