SAN FRANCISCO (Cultural News: Forwarded for Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California) – Music has played a big part in defining our community through the generations, both good time and bad, and celebrating our past and present.

Join us for a special 50th anniversary weekend event of the Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northen California with Los Angeles based - the Grateful Crane Ensemble on June 24 and 25.

“Sentimental Journey: A Nisei Life in Song” will take the audience through the era that defined the Nisei experience, with hit Japanese and American songs from the ‘40s and ‘50s.

“Arigato Benkyodo” is a nostalgic, musical tribute to the last and dearly loved manju-ya in Japantown, Benkyodo.
