
Theatrical Kabuki style music themed Fuji Japanese Music will be performing at the OC (Orange County) Japan Fair on Sunday, Oct. 29 between 1:30-2:15pm.

Fuji Japanese Music will perform Nagauta "Shunkyo," Yamatogaku, "Kitsune:Fox," and Yamatogaku, "Edo Furyu: Hokusai`s Edo Prints."
The music will be performed by Kyosho Yamato, Yasoyo Yamato, Kyoichiro Yamato, Keiko Hashimoto and Charlie Mathews.
Fuji Japanese Music is led by Mme. Mariko Watabe who was born and trained in Japan. Mme. Watabe is one of the foremost experts in theatrical Kabuki style music.
She is an accredited master & teacher in many fields with 50+ years overall experience in vocals, playing shamisen as well as hayashi, which is traditional Japanese percussion. Mme. Watabe currently resides in Gardena, California.
She goes by her stage names of Kichitoji Kineya, for Nagauta, and Kyosho Yamato for Yamatogaku, and Kimisen Katada for Hayashi percussion.
Since 1974, she has introduced Kabuki music to American audiences nationwide. She has given performances, lectures, and demonstrations throughout the United States and she resides in southern California since 2012. She travels monthly to New York to teach.
YAMATOGAKU is a modern-take on Japanese classical Kabuki music featuring shamisen, singing and percussion.
