The Japanese American Cultural & Community Center (JACCC) had its Grand Opening of MISE at the Toshizo Watanabe Exhibition Center on Oct. 28-29 featuring a Tsubamesanjo Artisan Fair as its inaugural event.
Kicking off the celebration was a ribbon-cutting ceremony held a day prior on Oct. 27. On the weekend, JACCC's campus was packed with guests who had the chance to personally meet and chat with artisans from Tsubamesanjo, Niigata Prefecture, Japan.
Guests were able to purchase culinary products that were specially curated for the inaugural launch of MISE 店 and attend workshops and demonstrations including by Knife Meister, Tsukasa Hinoura, a legendary knife maker from Tsubamesanjo.
If you missed the activities of the Grand Opening, you can still shop for items at JACCC's new online store, MISE 店. You can also visit MISE in person on Thursdays - Saturdays, 11 am to 6 pm, or by special appointment by contacting us at culinary@jaccc.org.
