2023/12/24: TAIKOPROJECT to perform at 64th Annual LA County Holiday Celebration on Dec. 24

23 music, dance, choral groups to perform at the 64th annual ‘L.A. County Holiday Celebration’ on Sunday, Dec. 24 from 3 pm until 6 pm at the Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, 135 N. Grand Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90012.

Free holiday spectacular at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion will be broadcast live on PBS SoCal, streamed at pbssocal.org and on the free PBS App.

The two-time Emmy Award-winning L.A. County Holiday Celebration joyously returns to The Music Center’s Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to celebrate its 64th anniversary with a free, live, in-person holiday spectacular co-hosted by internationally renowned mezzo soprano Suzanna Guzmán and actor/model/disabilities advocate Danny J. Gomez.

The annual event will feature 23 music ensembles, choirs and dance companies from the many neighborhoods and cultures of L.A. County. This year’s highlights include 10-piece Latin jazz ensemble Gabrielito y La Verdad; French-Chinese-American chanteuse Jessica Fichot; two-time Grammy award-winning all-female mariachi ensemble Mariachi Divas; Jewish culture revival band Mostly Kosher; multi-genre fusion orchestra South Side Symphony; heart-pounding Japanese drumming by TAIKOPROJECT; traditional Korean dance from the Hiza Yoo Korean Dance Institute; a Chinese calligraphy-inspired piece from M Dance Collective; the fierce footwork of Reverb Tap Company; drum-accompanied dances by Divas and Drummers of Compton; Indian-influenced contemporary choreography by Blue13 Dance Company; Mexican folkloric dancing and colorful costumes from Técnica Arte y Folklore; traditional Bulgarian folk dance ensemble XoroTroptzi; and audience favorite Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles.

Entrance to the in-person event is free, with seating available on a first-come, first-seated basis. Parking is free in The Music Center parking garage.

Those who can’t make it to The Music Center on Dec. 24 will be able to watch the event live on PBS SoCal, livestream online at pbssocal.org, or catch a PBS SoCal encore broadcast later in the evening.
