Japanese American community accepting donation for the Noto Earthquake victim relief fund

The Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles is accepting donations in response to the recent Noto Peninsula earthquake in Japan.

Donations can be made by check. Please use the following information and mailing address below when sending a donation check:

Please write “earthquake relief” both in the memo line on the check as well as in the final line of the mailing address on the envelope.

Disaster relief donations made to the Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles will be deposited directly with the Japanese Red Cross Society, to be utilized in responding to the post-disaster situation in the Noto Peninsula region.

Donations received at the Consulate are not eligible for a deduction under U.S. tax law.

 

The Japanese Prefectural Association of Southern California (Nanka Kenjinkai Kyogikai) started donation campaign for the Noto Earthquake victim relief fund.

Make check payable to Nanka Kenjinkai Kyogikai, mention to: Noto Earthquake Aid, mail to: Nanka Kenjinkai Kyogikai, Attn: Kihei Otani, 10502 Ridgeway Drive, North Tustin CA 92705.

The Japanese Prefectural Association consists of 38 prefectural associations including the Ishikawa Prefecture Association in Southern California. The association is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization. Donation are tax deductible.

All donations to Noto Earthquake Aid will be remitted to Ishikawa Prefecture Government. Only money is accepted by the Prefectural Association.

The Japanese Chamber of Commerce Foundation has established the Noto Peninsula Earthquake Relief Fund.

UCLA faculty asks donation to help families of UCLA graduate in earthquake affected Machino, Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture

Walter Tsushima graduated from UCLA in 2002 and went on to participate in the JET program, where he not only shared his love for the Japanese language but also found love himself. For the past 17 years, Walt and his family have lived in Fukui prefecture. Unfortunately, the recent earthquake has devastated the family home of Walter’s wife.
