2024/4/07: Japanese American Cultural & Community Center to host concert of Kaoru Kakizakai, renowned Shakuhachi player from Japan on April 7 at 3PM
The Japanese American Cultural & Cultural Center presents “An Afternoon of Shakuhachi with Kaoru Kakizakai” at TWCCC & James Irvine Japanese Garden at JACCC, 244 South San Pedro Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012, on Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm. Doors opens at 3 pm. Program begins at 3:30 pm.

The program features master practitioner Kaoru Kakizakai – an internationally renowned player and teacher of shakuhachi, a traditional Japanese vertical bamboo instrument.
This program includes a discussion and performance with guest musicians. Kakizakai has continued the vision of his teacher, Katsuya Yokoyama, by creating the International Shakuhachi Society and spreading shakuhachi around the world.
