Step into a tranquil space where art and music intertwine to offer a meditative escape from the everyday. Artist reception will be held on Saturday, August 17, from 6-8 p.m. with live music. Light refreshments will be served during the reception.

At “Echoes in Serenity,” Harazaki presents a deeply personal exploration of identity, tradition, and peace through her innovative tape art, blending Eastern and Western influences.

The artworks, ranging from evocative depictions of historical moments to playful explorations of nature, invite reflection and connection.

Chiho Harazaki was born and raised in the countryside of Japan. Spending childhood summers at the remote mountain studio of her uncle, a renowned rock sculptor, Harazaki’s interest in art was stimulated at an early age.

Harazaki’s first experimentations with tape as a medium for artistic work began in collage in Los Angeles, where she produces her first “tape art.” Harazaki’s work carries the spirit of traditional Japanese art forms like woodcut and paper-cutting, while using the unconventional medium of tape to create something entirely new.

Harazaki’s artwork has been exhibited individually and collectively, including Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery, Art Share L.A., and the Japanese Friendship Garden in San Diego. She has also been commissioned to create large-scale installations for the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center in Los Angeles, the City of Santa Clarita, as well as for commercial clients like John Lobb.
