In Japan Film Festival Los Angeles 2024, 40 films from Japan available for theater screening and online from Sep. 1-15
The Japan America Media Association presents the 19th annual Japan Film Festival Los Angeles (JFFLA) in Hollywood and South Bay area from September 1-15.
From September 1 through 15, online screenings will be available at JFFLA.org

In JFFLA 2024, the Japan America Media Association provides about 40 films for screening in theaters and the online.
Sunday, September 8
Opening screening will be held at the Okinawa Association of America (OAA) center, 16500 S. Western Ave, Suite 103, Gardena, CA 90247. Tickets are $5. Free for members of OAA.
1:00 PM: Lightning Over the Beyond 彼方の閃光
Saturday, September 14 at Hang On to the Dream Theatre, 1625 Las Palmas Ave, Hollywood, CA 90028
11:30 AM: Who’s Dancing Now? いまダンスをするのは誰だ?(Free screening) Cast Nozomi Kojima and Shun Shioya and director Cony Shun will appear in-person.
1:30 PM: Whale Restaurant 鯨のレストラン (Free screening)
Director Keiko Yagi will appear in-person.
3:15 PM: MADO (Window) 窓 (Free screening)
Main cast Masahiko Nishimura and director Mao will appear in-person.

11:00 AM – 3:00 PM: Washoku and Movies program. Tickets are $45, ages 21 and older: Short films about Japanese culture (Shuhari / Yuri / Tea at Twilight / Wabi Sabi) will be screened.
Lunch with Japanese food and sake and cultural experience of tea, flowers and calligraphy.
3:00 PM: Talk event with directors and actors from Japan and Hollywood. (Admission free)
3:30 PM: 10 highly rated short films will be screened, and director or cast Q&A (Admission free)
6:30 PM: Awards and closing ceremony (Invitation only).
