Fuji Japanese Music is proud to announce their upcoming spring performance schedule, featuring Yamatogaku, traditional Japanese music styles, across three Southern California cultural festivals in April 2025.
The performance series will be highlighted by the special appearance of Mme. O-Sho Yamato, headmaster of the prestigious Yamatogaku school, who will be traveling from Tokyo, Japan to join the ensemble for two performances.

About Mme. O-Sho Yamato
Mme. O-Sho Yamato is the respected 3rd headmaster of the Yamatogaku school in Tokyo, Japan, dedicated to the preservation and development of traditional Japanese music. Her mastery of the shamisen has earned her recognition as one of Japan's leading performers, receiving prestigious awards including the Jokan Prize and the Japan Traditional Cultural Foundation Award. In 2016, she made history as the first Japanese artist to perform Shakespeare’s “Ophelia” played by the shamisen at the Glove Theatre in London.
