The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix presents the World Premiere of Sakura no Ne (Root of the Cherry Tree) at Theater Works in Peoria from April 13-22.

This stage production brings to life the intriguing story of two everyday kids and their unexpected relationship with an older Japanese gentleman gardener at The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix.

Initially viewed as an unwelcome introduction to Japanese arts, culture and activities in Arizona, the kids find themselves willingly learning the importance of understanding the difference between self-confidence and selfishness.

Their “once upon a time” story will resonate with the young and not-so-young alike. This wondrous journey takes us through sunshine, rain and remarkable cinematic special effects to realize the genuine beauty that is found within each one of us …all without leaving our seat!

This will surely be a lifetime experience that will be remembered forever!
