Renowned poet, ecologist, and Zen Buddhism advocator, Gary Snyder will lecture at University of Southern California on Monday, Sept. 24 at 7 pm.

Gary Snyder is a Pulitzer Prize-winning poet with a radical vision that integrates Zen Buddhism, American Indian practices and ecological thinking.
He began his career as a noted member of the Beat Generation and was also a part of the San Francisco Renaissance.
USC presents three events with Snyder exploring Buddhism and ecology.
Lecture Gary Snyder: A Conversation on Transpacific Buddhism, Ecology, and Poetry
Monday, Sept. 24, at 7 pm

Snyder will present a lecture, conversation and book signing exploring his experiences as a poet in the U.S., his time as a Zen monk in Japan and the connections between his work and social and ecological issues in American society.
On Tuesday, Sept. 25, Snyder will engage with students in a poetry workshop (12:30 pm) and discuss Buddhism in a Japanese tea ceremony (4 pm).
These events are also open to the public. But as of Sept. 9, reservations for the general public are already full.
