Cultural News is launching Cultural News Club this month. The focus of the club is to explore and experience Japanese culture in Los Angeles.
The first installment of the Cultural News Club activity is THE ART OF MISO PASTE MAKING on Sunday, Feb. 10 from 10 am to 1 pm in Shadow Hills, 10 minutes Northwest of Burbank.
Participants will be able to experience miso paste making from scratch, and will be able to bring the paste home. After about 6 months of fermentation, the paste will be ready to be used for Miso soup.
During the three-hour class, participants will also learn how to make miso soup, one of the most popular Japanese food dishes in America.
This class will be taught by Mie Aso, a Japanese theatre troupe, Arigato Kai, member. The class will be taught in English.
Fee is $25 per house hold which includes the PDF subscription of Cultural News for 12 issues per year. $5 additional per person from the same house-hold.
Cultural News Club is planning to have a member only cultural event every other month. Possible events include Greentea workshop, Sake tasting, Yukata dressing, Little Tokyo Tour, etc. Members can enjoy each event for $10 per event.
