Children’s Matsuri at Temecula with the theme of “Folktales, Folkart & Folks,” May 8, 2010

Temecula Children's Matsuri KokeshiThe Temecula Sister City Association presents “Children’s Matsuri” on Saturday, May 8, from 11 am to 5 pm at Old Town Temecula Community Theater, 42051 Main Street, Temecula.

“Children’s Matsuri” is a celebration of Japanese culture through educational crafts, games, entertainment and food. This year’s theme is “Folktales, Folkart & Folks.”

The theme of “Folktales, Folkart & Folks” will be the focus of all of the fun crafts and games.

There will educational crafts and learning materials for each participant to take home.

There will be “The Art of the Kokeshi,” make your own Kokeshi doll workshop, an Ikebana demonstration and “Kamishibai” Japanese storytelling.

The entertainment will feature a variety of traditional Japanese forms of art that will include dance, music and much more.

A variety of delicious Japanese food will also be available to purchase.
