Kuro Productions: Actress and singer, Yukari Black, leads this production. Our goal is to spread Japanese culture, philosophy, and history through our performances.
Vengeance Can Wait: This is the premiere Kuro Production’s project.It was originally performed in Tokyo, Japan by “Motoya Yukiko Theater Company” in 2005. The English translation was developed in 2006 and it had a production in 2008 with Queens Theater. Yukari Black is the first Japanese director of this play in the U.S. Kuro Productions will participate in the Hollywood Fringe Festival with this play.
Hollywood Fringe Festival: The Hollywood Fringe Festival is an annual, open-access, community-derived event celebrating freedom of expression and collaboration in the performing arts community. Also there are different genres of awards for participants.
The meaning of performing this play in the U.S.: Kuro Productions was founded in an effort to provide a bridge of cultural exchange between Japan and the U.S. by performing this Japanese play in English. Instead of introducing traditional Japanese culture, the play will introduce a unique and contemporary Japanese dynamic to the world. By promoting racial diversity through performing arts in the community, a deeper and more emotional bond and understanding can be reached.
