On Saturday, May 10, from 11am – 1pm, Kinokuniya Bookstore and Little Tokyo Branch Library will co-sponsor a slide show presentation and book signing by the author of a new guide book about Okinawa and the Ryukyu Islands.

Author Robert Walker who is Law Professor at University of Maryland – Asian Division in Okinawa, and will be visiting Los Angeles from May 3 -11.

In addition to being a university professor he is a tax attorney and inveterate traveler.  His book was recently published by Tuttle Publishing.

“Okinawa and the Ryukyu Islands” is the first comprehensive guide to the 150 sub-tropical island chain that stretches across 600 miles from Japan to Taiwan. These are some of the most stunningly beautiful islands in the world.

Illustrated with over 200 color photographs and 40 maps, this book provides essential travel tips to help tourists avoid costly mistakes. It also

includes a large fold-out map of Okinawa and the Ryukyu chain with insets for the major islands and cities.
