2014 / Jazz pianist and composer Hiroe Sekine to play in “Jazz at LACMA” concert, Oct. 17, 6:00 pm
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art will invite jazz composer and pianist Hiroe Sekine and her quintet on Friday, Oct. 17 at 6:00 pm for a “Jazz at LACMA series” concert. Free and open to the public. LACMA is located at 5905 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036.
Hiroe Sekine, born in Gumman, Japan, is a graduate of Thornton School of Music at USC with a degree in Jazz Studies. She has been performing at various clubs, restaurants and parties, but her acclaim comes from many jazz critiques on her two CD’s she has released, Ame’, and After the Rainfall.
At LACMA, Hiroe will play her compositions and standard jazz tunes in her own arrangements in the straight-ahead jazz style together with trumpet, saxophone, bass and drums.
