2018 / Little Tokyo: New Year Celebration events to be held, Jan. 01

Led by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Southern California, various community members of Japanese American will recreate an atmosphere of  Japan’s New Year’s Day Cerebration aka Oshogatsu in Little Tokyo on Jan. 1 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The Oshogatsu cerebration will take place at Weller Court, Japanese Village Plaza and the Francis Hashimoto Plaza in Little Tokyo.

The event will feature traditional Japanese food, entertainment and cultural activities such as a mochi making demonstration, a kimono fashion show, Taiko drums, a Lion dance and the list goes on.

The Oshogatsu is one of the most exciting events to take place in the Japanese American community.
