The Japan America Society of Southern California will be honoring MLB baseball player Shohei Ohtani, and Netflix star Marie Kondo from the hit TV series “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo” at its 110th Anniversary Dinner and Gala on Thursday, July 11 at Angels Stadium. Reception and silent auction begins at 6:00 pm and dinner and gala celebration at 7:00 pm.
Shohei Ohtani, also known as the “Babe Ruth of Japan” was the 2018 MLB Rookie of the Year and is currently the pitcher/hitter for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
He will be honored with the JASSC’s Kokusai Shimin Sho “International Citizens Award” for being a great role model for Japanese and American youth.
Marie Kondo will also be honored for her best-selling book, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing,” as well as her hit Netflix series, “Tidying Up with Marie Kondo,” which focuses on helping American families clear clutter out of their homes to create joy within.
