(Gardena, CA–August 28, 2019) It is with much regret that the Okinawa Association of America, Inc (OAA) announces that BEGIN band’s September 1st concert at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center has been postponed.
The reason is due to delays in obtaining the group’s visas. OAA deeply apologizes to their sponsors, volunteers and the many BEGIN fans who were hoping to attend. Rescheduling plans are currently underway.
The OAA 110th Anniversary Zenyasai, celebratory reception, is slated for August 31st as scheduled from 6pm to 8pm at the Ken Nakaoka Community Center located at 1670 W 162nd Street in Gardena.
On Saturday, August 31, from 6-8 pm, the Okinawa Association of America (OAA) will kick-off its 110th anniversary celebration weekend with a special reception at the Ken Nakaoka Community Center in Gardena.
The evening program will include live entertainment, light refreshments, messages from local and international guests, and an awards presentation.
Performances include traditional folk music by Ishihara Haruo Ryukyu Minyo, traditional dances by Tamagusuku Ryu Kansen Kai, hula by Ai Teshima, and the Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko Los Angeles Branch.
The night will conclude with a brief guest appearance by the members of BEGIN, who will be taking a large group photo with attendees.
(Note: Out of respect for the band’s hectic schedule, this will not be a meet-and-greet; autographs and personal photos will not be permitted.)
Tickets are $20 for OAA members, $40 for non-members.
RSVP must be received by Aug. 23 at OAA Office, (310) 532-1929, email@example.com
