2023/8/13: LA Nebuta organizer invites the public to Nebuta Festival in Nisei Week Grand Parade, Aug. 13

LA Nebuta Festival (Aomori Kenjinkai Kaikan, 320 Crocker Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013) will participate in the 2023 Nisei Week Grand Parade on Sunday, August 13, starting 4:00p.m.

LA Nebuta Festival will perform a parade with Nebuta float, Haneto dancers, and Nebutabayashi (live music of taiko drum, fue and kane). Haneto whose chant is “Rassera” will dance marching through Little Tokyo with live music and floats. LA Nebuta Festival invites the public to the Nebuta parade as Haneto dancers and volunteers for float setting and float pushers.

Haneto dancers must report to the following time and venue:
On Sunday, August 13, by 1:00PM
at Aomori Kenjinkai Kaikan, 320 Crocker Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013

Haneto dancer registration fee $5: Bring your Haneto costumes
Haneto dancer registration fee $20: Rental Heneto costume
Haneto dancer registration fee FREE: If children will bring their own yukata, staff of LA Nebuta will arrange them in a Haneto costume for free.

All Haneto participants must be 5 years old and older. Under high school students must be accompanied by guardians.

Setting Up volunteers will assemble and decorate Nebuta, audio, and Drum floats.

Setting Up volunteers must report to the following time and venue:
On Sunday, August 13, by 1:00PM
at Aomori Kenjinkai Kaikan, 320 Crocker Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013

Float Pusher must report to the following time and venue:
On Sunday, August 13, by 2:00PM
at Aomori Kenjinkai Kaikan, 320 Crocker Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013

All volunteers must be high school students and older.
