An online seminar titled "How to Support Wildfire Survivors"(ロサンゼルス火災の被災者との接し方) will be held on Sunday, March 9, at 7:00 PM (LA Daylight Time). The session will be conducted in Japanese via Zoom.

The recent Eaton and Palisades wildfires have left approximately 40,000 people without homes, with over 12,000 residences destroyed across Los Angeles County. When encountering wildfire survivors in Los Angeles, what words of support can we offer?

Shige Higashi, Cultural News Editor, has extensively covered disaster-affected areas, including the aftermath of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake, and the 2018 Western Japan Floods. Through these experiences, he has learned that supporting disaster survivors goes beyond donations and volunteer work—it also requires understanding their emotions and experiences.

This seminar is made possible with the cooperation of Professor Kenta Kasai of Sophia University, a specialist in grief care. The session will be conducted in Japanese via Zoom.
