Feb. 22 Update: Thank you for your support! We are closing our GiveButter.com dedicated Eaton Fire Sangha Support Fund. Words cannot express our deep gratitude for your generosity that has exceeded our goals and expectations. The funds will continue to be distributed among our Sangha survivors. The scope of the destruction and disruption to not only their homes but their lives and livelihood has become a harsh reality after a month long wait and searching.

We will continue to provide support, protection and encouragement to our Sangha and those in our neighborhood. Donations can continue to be made to the fund by check/cash mailed to our Temple. Please designate that your donation is to go to the Eaton Sangha Support Fund.

Unfortunately, our Temple is in need of remediation and repair. The scope and cost of all the work on the Temple buildings and parsonage are far greater than expected. Due to the damage, we have lost rental income and have had to cancel our spring fundraiser. We have found that we must consider a new campaign and funding that will cover what is not covered by insurance or FEMA. Please be on the lookout for the launch of this new fundraiser on our website and social media.

Feb. 15 Update: It rained on Thursday, literally and figuratively. Our traumatized community saw the return of high winds and then, pounding rain leading to some evacuation notices and flooding in places. We also experienced a deluge of kind donations to our Eaton Sangha Support Fund, so that fund's online donations now stands at $40,800, with more donations arriving in the mail. The fund was supposed to close on February 13, but between power outages and the site manager's bad cold did not close that day, so, the fund will remain open through the weekend. We are only closing the online portion of the fund.

We are postponing another planned temple fundraiser: Bingo Night, scheduled for April. We will be starting a new fund soon to help defray cost of clean-up and repair of our Temple buildings not covered by insurance or FEMA. Look for the GoFundMe to begin in the next week or two, once a more complete picture of the damage can be drawn.
