A National Day of Action news conference and community rally will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Norman Y. Mineta Democracy Plaza of Japanese American National Museum, 100 North Central Ave. in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Mineta Plaza is located at north side of Metro Little Tokyo/Arts District Station.
Survivors of World War II incarceration camps along with community activists and allies will join to defend the accurate presentation of history in America’s National Parks and to honor the people and places that shape our past.
The event is supported by organizations committed to preserving the lessons and memory of Japanese American incarceration, including the National Parks Conservation Association, Go For Broke National Education Center, Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), Japanese American National Museum (JANM), Little Tokyo Historical Society, Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC), Manzanar Committee, Nikkei for Civil Rights & Redress (NCRR), Nikkei Progressives and Tuna Canyon Detention Station, among others.
Mike Murase of Nikkei Progress posts at Facebook: Years from now, when you are asked: "What were you doing when they tried to erase our history and they came to kidnap immigrants?" You will tell your children and your children's children that we came together, we stood up, we spoke out, and we fought for justice for everyone!
