Ventura County JACL Historical Japanese Cemetery Clean-Up Volunteers

OXNARD, CA  — The Ventura County Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), in partnership with USC Day of SCervice, will host its Annual Historic Japanese Cemetery Clean‑Up on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., or until the work is completed.

The community service event will take place at the Historic Japanese Cemetery, located at the corner of Etting Road and Pleasant Valley Road in Oxnard. Volunteers of all ages are welcome to participate in preserving this important historic site.

Participants will assist with general gardening and grounds maintenance, including weeding, raking, and trash removal. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gardening gloves, hoes, shovels, rakes, hats, trash bags, and a beach or camping chair for breaks. The Ventura County JACL will provide bottled water and light refreshments for all volunteers.

Those planning to attend are asked to sign up in advance to help organizers ensure adequate refreshments are available. Registration information is available online.
