LOS ANGELES, May 4, 2026 – Beverly Ito, president and CEO of Keiro, will retire at the end of 2026, culminating nearly 50 years with the nonprofit organization that serves older adults, caregivers, and their families in the Japanese American community of Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura counties.

“Throughout her career, Beverly continued the legacy of Keiro’s founders to provide quality care and culturally centered services for our communities’ older adults,” said Gerald Iseda, board chair of Keiro’s Board of Directors. “She led Keiro’s renewed commitment and reconnection to the Japanese-speaking and multigenerational Japanese American community.”

“Beverly leaves Keiro strong and well-poised for the future,” Iseda continued. “On behalf of the thousands of seniors and caregivers served by this organization during her tenure, we thank Beverly for her service and leadership.”

Throughout her career, Ito served in multiple leadership roles, including administrator of Keiro Intermediate Care Facility and chief compliance & privacy officer. For the remainder of 2026, Keiro looks forward to celebrating Ito’s career contributions and the organization’s 65th anniversary.

“Beverly was instrumental in the development of Keiro Kikyo Home, which will provide a community-based and culturally relevant care option for seniors,” said Lynn Miyamoto, board chair of Keiro Kikyo Home. Miyamoto will co-lead the Executive Search Committee with former Keiro board chair, Jack Kurihara, to select the organization’s next president and CEO.

“I dedicated my career at Keiro to uplifting the legacy of Keiro’s founders and their commitment to quality care and culturally grounded values,” Ito said. “It has been a tremendous honor to work with our team to initiate programs that engage an emerging generation of older adults in Our Community and build a Keiro that will meet the evolving needs of future generations.”

Keiro’s Executive Search Committee has engaged the services of executive search firm DSG Koya to consider both internal and external candidates to lead the organization after Ito’s retirement.
