TORRANCE, CA (September 2026) – LA Kansai Club will present its second Grand Fall Music Festival on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at the James R. Armstrong Theatre in Torrance.

Thanks to support from a Keiro Foundation grant, guests age 80 and over can attend free of charge with advance reservation. Photo ID showing proof of age will be required at the event. General admission is $20, with tickets also available through participating singers and LA Kansai Club.

The first Grand Music Festival, held in April 2025 at Nishi Hongwanji Betsuin in Los Angeles, welcomed more than 400 guests. This year, LA Kansai Club brings that same spirit of music, laughter and togetherness to the South Bay in a larger venue.

The afternoon program will feature approximately 20 accomplished Japanese singers, including Matsutoyo Sato, originally from Osaka, who has spent more than 60 years introducing and preserving Japanese folk music in the United States; her daughter, Marisa Kosugi, a professional folk singer; Akira Fujimoto, who recently made his professional singing debut in Japan; and Noriko Yonami, a former professional performer with the renowned Shochiku Kagekidan (SKD) in Japan.

The festival will also feature a colorful variety of performances, including Okinawan Eisa taiko, Spanish flamenco, Tokushima Awa Odori, Japanese traditional dance, and children’s hula.

The festival continues the vision of LA Kansai Club’s late president, Dr. Shinichi Hirokawa, who believed in bringing people together through the songs of their hometowns and Japanese culture, while creating opportunities to share memories, laughter and community.

The production team includes Noriko Yonami (Karin Creations) as Artistic Director, Yui Yamamoto (Yui Sensational) as Sound Specialist, and veteran emcee Tack Nishi as Master of Ceremonies. The festival is also supported by Japan Singers Association US Friends.

A round-trip shuttle from Little Tokyo to Torrance will be available for up to 50 passengers. The fare is $15 per person, and advance reservation is required. Contact Japanese American Service Committee (JASC) at 626-944-3007; phone calls and text messages are welcome.

LA Kansai Club welcomes seniors, families, younger generations, and everyone who enjoys Japanese music and culture to come together for a fun afternoon of music, dance and community.
