
The Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in Los Angeles announces the appointment of Ms. Leslie A. Ito as its new President & CEO. She will begin her tenure on March 4, 2013.
For over 14 years, Ito has promoted arts organizations with technical assistance and fund development in her various roles with the California Community Foundation, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and the Ford Foundation.
She also served as the Executive Director of Visual Communications leading a major leadership transition and strategic planning process.
Ito is a graduate of the Executive Program for Non Profit Leaders in Arts from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, has a Master of Arts in Asian American Studies from UCLA, and a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Mount Holyoke College.
The mission of the JACCC is to present Japanese art and culture to diverse audiences, and to provide a center to enhance community programs. Founded in 1980, the JACCC has been a center for multi-generational cultural and community programs for Japanese Americans in Little Tokyo in the heart of historic Los Angeles. The Center is home to 18 civic, business, cultural and arts organizations.
