2013 / Nisei Week / Elite bonsai to be displayed at Little Tokyo, Aug 17-18
Nationally renowned bonsai association Nanpu Kai of Los Angeles presents its annual bonsai display during the Nisei Week Two, Aug 17 – 18, from 10 am to 5 pm at Doizaki Gallery in the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center, 244 South San Pedro Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Admission free.
Nanpu Kai was started in 1959 by internationally renowned bonsai instructor John Naka of Los Angeles. Nanpu Kai’s Nisei Week display began in 1963.
This year, there will be more than 40 displays of bonsai, some as old as 600 years and some as small as 8 inches. There will be suiseki, viewing stone, on display, that are found in California.
Nanpu Kai members will be available to answer questions.
