2014 / Hollywood’s Magic Castle to showcase Japanese magic, May 19-25

Magic has played an important role in Japan’s history and remains a significant part of the country’s entertainment and culture today.

Dedicated to celebrating the distinct style and artistry of Japanese magic, May 19-25 is the fourth annual Magic of Japan Week at Hollywood’s world-famous Magic Castle.

Featuring top-magicians from the land of the rising sun, each performer is sure to dazzle audiences with superb artistry and sophisticated technique.

Guest performers include: HAMAchan, Toritto, Masataka Jimbo, Aki Mitsui, Misty Mew, Atsushi Nishida, Motti, Wakaba, KoKoRo, Kikuty Mammy and YOURI.

Commented renowned Japanese magician and Magic of Japan Week organizer Shoot Ogawa, “It is my honor to work with each performer. I am very excited to bring some of the best magicians from Japan to perform at the Magic Castle—some whom are appearing in America for the first time.”

The Academy of Magical Arts (AMA) is a unique non-profit. The AMA’s membership – including the world’s most pre-eminent and celebrated magicians and illusionists – lives by the “Magic First” creed, devoted to the advancement of the art of magic and preserving its history. 

Its headquarters and private clubhouse, the Magic Castle, has been an internationally revered gathering place for the magic brotherhood since opening its doors in 1963.
