The Japanese American Cultural and Community Center in Los Angeles celebrates the 2015 Nisei Week Japanese Festival with Taiko, Japanese classical folk dancers, martial arts, musical performances and DJ’s throughout the day.
Exhibitions will include Japanese prefectural displays as well as artisans skilled in Ikebana, Bonsai, Japanese Dolls, Calligraphy, and Tea Ceremony.
The JACCC’s cultural exhibitions will be held on August 15-16 and August 22-23, from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm.
August 22-23:
Bonsai exhibit by Nampu Kai
Japanese Calligraphy by Beikoku Shodo Kenkyu Kai, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Traditional to contemporary calligraphy demonstration by Hiroko Ikuta at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
