JAPANESE AMERICANS TELL OWNER OF CENTURY CITY HOTEL, NO BIG RENT HIKES on OUR ELDERLY!

Japanese Americans demand that owner Pacifica Companies not increase rents for elderly at their retirement home.

• Elderly Japanese Americans and supporters will hold a press event, rally and picketing in front of Courtyard Marriott hotel in Century City. They will insist that the owners NOT raise rents for elderly and jeopardize their access to housing.

• Pacifica Companies, owners of Kei-Ai Healthcare Centers and Sakura Intermediate Care and Gardens (formerly all Keiro Healthcare facilities) also owns the Courtyard Marriott hotel. Pacifica is a multi-billion dollar real estate development firm based in San Diego.

• When Pacifica bought Keiro Healthcare in 2016, a condition of the sale was that Pacifica maintain the culturally sensitive healthcare as a community institution for 5 years.

“Since Keiro sold us to Pacifica, conditions have worsened: food is worse, there is no real cook, only 1 Security guard for the whole place at night, that’s why I left. They need to keep their promise to not change things for 5 years.” Stated Ms. Sachiko Morita (former resident)
