JAPAN HOUSE Los Angeles is opening its gallery on the second floor of the Hollywood & Highland entertainment center with an inaugural exhibition of works by the internationally acclaimed, experimental Japanese fashion label, ANREALAGE.
Admission is free.
On view from Jan. 19 to Mar. 21, this immersive exhibition is the solo North American exhibition debut by designer Kunihiko Morinaga, one of a vanguard of next-generation Japanese fashion innovators.
Titled A Light Un Light, the exhibition will introduce visitors to Morinaga’s boundary-pushing concepts through a selection of recent experiments with technology, fabrics and optical illusions.
Installations examine qualities of light, such as shadow, reflection, wavelength, and power which ANREALAGE has used as inspiration for their recent collections, with each presentation offering a unique experience for the viewer.
Throughout the exhibition, the synergy between Morinaga and his Japanese colleagues in contemporary art and design will be showcased.
Japan House Los Angeles is open every day from 10am – 8pm on 2nd floor of Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
