Interested families are invited to attend this information session to get more details about the tentative program and ask questions.
Attendance does not require any commitment to participating in the program; this session is mainly to spread the word and gauge availability/interest.
Due to the short timeframe, attendance at this info session will help determine whether or not the Okinawa Association of America will participate in this program.

On Sunday, February 25, the Okinawa Association of America (OAA) in Gardena will host an information session for a tentative homestay program that is being organized by the Okinawa Prefectural Government (OPG).
The OAA is searching for local families who are interested in potentially hosting high school/college students and adult chaperones from Okinawa during a two-week period in August 2018.
Families will receive a per diem for each student and the OAA will be heavily involved with coordination, scheduling, and support.
The homestay program will consist of group activities and free time for students to spend with their host families. This is a great opportunity for cultural exchange, especially for families who have roots in Okinawa!
If the homestay program is finalized, interested families will undergo a vetting process.
The February 25 information session will provide more details about the homestay program as well as experiences from previous programs that the OAA was involved with. Any questions or concerns can be answered at this time.
