2019: Okinawa Association to reschedule “Begin” concert on March 28 at El Camino College’s Marsee Auditorium

Renowned folk/pop music group “Begin” from Okinawa, Japan

The Okinawa Association of America announces the rescheduling date of its 110th Anniversary Concert featuring “Begin,” a renowned folk/pop music group from Okinawa, Japan.

The new date is Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 7:30 pm, and the new venue is El Camino College’s Marsee Auditorium at 16007 Crenshaw Blvd, Torrance, CA 90506 in the El Camino College campus.

In September 2019, the OAA’s 110th Anniversary Concert featuring “Begin” was suddenly postponed. The 110th anniversary committee leadership have since been working diligently with the band’s management team, the venue, and the sponsors in order to reschedule the much anticipated concert.

In the office, OAA staff and volunteers have been processing refund requests one-by-one and answering questions about the rescheduling.

The Okinawa Association of America’s announcement says “It has been an extremely difficult process and we would like to thank the dedicated volunteers who have worked hard to make sure that the concert is rescheduled. We are especially grateful for the ticket holders who have been patient and understanding during this time.”

The venue has been changed to El Camino College’s Marsee Auditorium in Torrance, California. The committee spent months going back and forth to keep the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, but the band’s packed schedule and venue’s limited availability led to a necessary venue change in order for the concert to happen.

Tickets are not yet on sale to the public (sale date will be announced soon). Due to the Marsee Auditorium’s policy, tickets will only be available to purchase directly through El Camino College’s box office or online.

Ticket holders will be assigned the best available seats based on their current row/seat number(s). The OAA will be contacting each ticket holder directly within the next 2 weeks with their seat assignments as well as a special offer to upgrade before tickets go on sale to the public.

New customers and customers who received a refund will have to purchase tickets through the Marsee Auditorium’s box office.

The OAA office will continue to process refund requests until January 10, 2020.
