Playing for a Cause, Riverside’s Future and Humanity at its Best:

“We at the International Relations Council join the Riverside community in sending our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to those affected by the earthquake and tsunami that devastated our Sister City Sendai and surrounding areas on the east coast of Japan. In Sendai, more than half a million people are without water and shelter. Many more are in the same dire situation in the surrounding region.”

About the Kingsmen:

The Students of King High wanted to put on this special concert to help with the fundraising for Sendai.  Under the directorship and maestro Mr. Charles Gray, the Riverside Kingsmen are a world renown local high school band with their recent travels around the world to London England.

They have performed and marched in the 118th Tournament of the Roses Parade of 2007 in Pasadena, and had brought home the Championship from the Fiesta Bowl in 2008 at Phoenix Arizona.

This critically acclaimed band, has received numerous sweepstake awards for both their parade and field show prowess as well as countless “Superior” ratings at regional concert festivals including four consecutive years of championships in Arcadia, which is the equivalent of four “CIF” Championships in high school sports.

Additionally, with strong ties to the Disney program, the band participated in Disney’s Christmas Day Special, and now is known as the on-call band for Disney.  In addition, this superb band played a part in the 2010 Gary Marshall film, Valentine’s Day.
