The 54th annual Obon Festival of the West Covina Buddhist Temple will be held at the East San Gabriel Valley Japanese Community Center (ESGVJCC), 1203 W Puente Ave, West Covina, CA 91790, on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
The day for honoring the past loved ones will commence with a Manto-e service at 6:00 p.m. in the ESGVJCC parking lot followed by Kishin Daiko’s performance. Bon Odori, with Kishin Daiko on the drums, will start at 7:00 p.m.
Bon Odori Practice: June 11, 13, 18, 20, 25 and 27, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Food booths will provide Chicken Teriyaki Plate, Asian Chicken Salada, Chicken Chow Mein, etc., and Cold Beer.
Games for Children also will be provided.
