This event will be the first ever in person World Kamishibai Forum.
A FREE Forum for teachers, librarians, storytellers and all Kamishibai Fans!
The World Kamishibai Forum will bring together and celebrate the diversity of Kamishibai performance styles from around the world.
Librarians, teachers and storytellers will have the opportunity to learn from internationally recognized Kamishibai experts.
The 2 days will encompass “How to” workshops and lots of Kamishibai storytelling and presentations.
Join us and experience how Kamishibai inspires and teaches children to love storytelling and literature.

Tara McGowan is a kamishibai performer, artist, educator and author of The Kamishibai Classroom: Engaging Multiple Literacies through the Art of ‘Paper Theater’ (2010) and Performing Kamishibai: An Emerging New Literacy for a Global Audience (2015).
Donna Tamaki USA
Donna Tamaki is an educator, translator and original co-founder of Kamishibai for Kids in New York. She is also co-founder of the World Kamishibai Forum.
Araki “Bunchan” Fumiko Tokyo, Japan
Araki Fumiko (a.k.a. Bunchan) is a prominent Japanese Kamishibai organizer, author, performer, educator, and co-director of World Kamishibai Forum.
Pepe Cabana Kojachi Lima, Peru
Pepe Cabana Kojachi (a.k.a. Mukashi, Mukashi) is an internationally prominent Peruvian Kamishibai creator, performer, educator and the director of La Escuela y Biblioteca Raymi Kamishibai, a Kamishibai library and center for learning.
Walter Ritter USA
Walter Ritter is an actor, kamishibai performer, and Executive Director of the nonprofit organization Write Out Loud based in San Diego, CA. He is a co-founder and sponsor of the World Kamishibai Forum.
Mimoto Fumiyo Osaka, Japan
Mimoto Fumiyo (a.k.a. Piman) is a prize-winning Japanese Kamishibai author, creator and educator, co-founder and director of Tezukuri (handmade) Kamishibai Center in Osaka.
