Then, when my foot touches the tarmac, something happens to me. Something clicks, shifts, changes. It is as if everything I have done before was just a preparation for this moment as my foot touches the ground in Japan. Suddenly, I am in a parallel universe that I could not have imagined, that will touch, stimulate, excite, move, and energize me every day for the next 54 years.”
