"Crosscurrent" exhibition at LA Artcore in Little Tokyo (Cultural News Photo)

An enduring 35-year legacy of cultural exchange, LA Artcore's artist global exchange program fulfills its Tokyo artist series from September 18–28th, 2025 featuring nine Tokyo-based artists organized by Yasunari Nakagomi.

Tokyo artists include: Syuta Mitomo, Sachiko Nakazawa, Hideo Iida, Izumi Tanabe, Shiho Aso, Akitaka Kajijo, Hitoshi Utsumi, Yuki Kamide, Yasunari Nakagomi.

The exhibit will be accompanied with small works by U.S. artists who participated in the Tokyo exhibit, in 2019.

They include: Alan Chin, Yun Choi, Marla Fields, Joel King, Joyce Kohl, Echo Lew, Ramone Munoz, Joseph Piasentin, Coleen Sterritt, Jae Hwa Yoo, Robert Walker, Peter Zaleski

An artist's reception will be held on Sunday, September 21st, from 3-5 at LA Artcore with gallery hours from Thursday–Sunday 12-4 pm.

Organized between hosts abroad and LA Artcore, this program, created by Founder Lydia Takeshita, fosters exposure and cooperation from cross-cultural interaction and through the sharing of artistic practices via exhibits.
