Koyasan Buddhist Temple will be open from January 1st to 3rd from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
We warmly invite you to join us for Hatsumode, the traditional New Year’s visit. Omamori (Amulets), Ofuda (Talismans) and Omikuji (fortune slips) will be available. New Years Service (Shu-Sho-e) is open to the public; however, reservations for the service are only available to the Temple members.
On January 1st, the Shu-Sho-e & Goma Ceremony will be starting at 10:00 AM followed by the distribution of mochi. This year, our temple will be open through the three days, so Omamori and other items will be available at any time during that period.
Please note that cash or check is only acceptable at the Omamori & Omikuji booths.
During Hatsumode, we will hold Goma Ceremonies and Taiko Drum Prayers.
