HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Lutheran Church of the Resurrection will host the 2026 Akune Mission Japan Festival on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., celebrating the work of Akune Mission while sharing the richness of Japanese culture with the community. The event will take place at the church’s campus located at 9812 Hamilton Avenue, Huntington Beach, CA 92646.
The festival serves as a fundraiser for Akune Mission in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, which was founded in 2019 to provide international services connecting communities in the United States and Japan.
Attendees will experience a wide range of cultural activities, including Bon Odori dance performed by Team Kawachi Ondo, along with traditional Japanese music performances, tea ceremony experiences, Japanese goods shopping, and a kids’ corner. The festival will also feature specialty booths such as Kimonoya LA and Spa Relaken, offering visitors an immersive cultural experience for all ages.
Food offerings will include Make Your Own Omusubi, Yakisoba, and a sake and beer booth for guests 21 and over, along with additional food selections.
2026 Akune Mission Japan Festival is supported by LA Kansai Club and Tulips in Harmony.
