Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and Children’s Book Festival in Little Tokyo which with the authors and illustrator of “UNBREAKABLE: A Japanese American Family in an American Incarceration Camp.”

Sunday, May 3, 11am – 3 pm
Kodomo no Hi – Children’s Day  The little ones will take over Little Tokyo! JACCC invites children to take the lead in exploring Japanese and Japanese American traditions. They will craft, play, and discover through hands-on activities, traditional games, and interactive storytelling. Family and Community will join the fun, enjoying delicious Japanese treats, lively performances, and multi-generational experiences. This unforgettable celebration brings Little Tokyo to life through the eyes of its youngest adventurers – creating new traditions, lasting memories, and a day filled with joy and discovery.

Nikkei Children’s Book Festival  This second annual event highlights heroes of all ages who have strengthened our community and made it special in big and small ways. Festival events include author and illustrator storytime, signing, meet-and-greets, arts and crafts for all ages, and special pop-up bookstore from the JANM Store
