Cultural News Seeks 250 Supporting Subscribers to Sustain Free Access to Japanese Cultural Resources
LOS ANGELES — Cultural News, a leading source of information on Japanese culture, arts, and community programs in Southern California, Arizona, and beyond, is seeking 250 Supporting Subscribers to help ensure the long-term sustainability of its free public services.
Founded in 1998 as a monthly newspaper and transformed into a digital weekly publication in 2020, Cultural News has served as a trusted resource for Japanese cultural events, traditions, educational programs, exhibitions, and community activities. Its weekly online newsletter, website, and cultural database remain completely free to the public, with no paywall.
To support approximately $30,000 in annual operating costs, the Cultural News Association was established in 2019. Community support is now essential to maintain the publication and preserve its growing archive of Japanese cultural information for future generations.
If 250 Supporting Subscribers join the program, Cultural News will be able to continue providing free access to its weekly news service and cultural database while safeguarding an important record of Japanese American and Japanese cultural life.
